This is a customised all year round tour. This offers a whistle stop idea of what Ghana has to offer. We make you see the real Ghana as it is. You meet people and your outlook about Africa will never be the same after this tour. One guest actually found her love on one such experience.

Day 1: Airport meet on your arrival in Ghana at the Kotoka International Airport. Overnight in a hotel in Accra.

Day 2: Insight offers a morning tour of Accra, Ghana's capital city and commercial heart. Discover the attractions of this bustling city, including the Independence Square, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, The National Museum, The Du Bois Center and Makola Market. In the afternoon, Insight drives you to Aburi Botanical Gardens for you to relax amongst the shaded paths and walkways. Overnight in Accra

Day 3: Depart Accra for Cape Coast and Elmina. You will pass through several interesting coastal towns and villages along the way. In Cape Coast, visit Cape Coast Castle, one of the best-preserved castles and the 15th century Elmina Castle. These two castles played key role in the slave trade era as well as the era of colonial rule  of the Gold Coast which later became Ghana. Overnight Cape Coast.

Day 4: Make an early morning trip to Kakum National Park; enjoy walking on the only canopy walkway in Africa, actually one of the only 3 in the world. A ground trail too is very insightful. Enjoy it. Overnight Cape Coast

Day 5: Depart Cape Coast for the Western Region and the port city of Takoradi. About 30 km away is the Busua Beach resort. Let's enjoy a little bit of luxury. Overnight Busua beach resort.

Day 6: The well-preserved Fort Appolonia at Beyin is a site to visit. Beyin also is the start of point in getting to the " floating" village Nzulezu, a village on stilts in the middle of the Lake Tadane. It is worth seeing how the people live there.

Day 7: The return journey to Accra takes you through traditional villages, vast rubber plantations and fields of pineapples. Many of the plantations will welcome guests and show you how their farms operate. You will see the Fort good hope at Senya Bereku before you get to Accra.

Day 8: A final chance to explore the markets of Accra for that special shopping before returning to the airport for your flight home.

Insight travel organizes tailor made individual holidays and small group tours to basically Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region as well as other parts of Ghana upon request.

Our specialty the home stay package offers you the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of a Ghanaian home on the edge of Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Kumasi is a unique and exciting city, formally the capital of the ancient Ashanti Kingdom. Once described as the "biggest village in Africa", it bustles with cultural activity and is still the seat of the most powerful Ashanti King, the Asantehene. It is also the home of the National Cultural Center; one of the biggest markets in Africa; and a host of skilled craft workers from textiles to goldsmith. The emphasis of the holiday is on meeting people, experiencing the culture and family life and pursuing your personal interests as well.

You are provided with a well-ventilated mosquito-proof room with shared or exclusive sanitary facilities and two mostly Ghanaian meals a day. Your host family helps you see and enjoy all the activities as they happen. Your questions get answered and Ghanaian life begins to make sense to you.

Day 3:Depart Accra for Cape Coast passing through several interesting coastal towns and villages along the way. In Cape Coast, visit Cape Coast Castle, one of the best-preserved castles and the 15th century Elmina Castle. Overnight Cape Coast. Elmina is an excellent town to explore on foot and be sure you don't miss the fishing harbour.Overnight Cape Coast.                                           

Day 4: Make an early morning trip to Kakum National Park; enjoy walking on the only canopy walkway in Africa, actually one of the only 3 in the world. A ground trail too is very insightful. Enjoy it. Overnight Cape Coast 

Day 5: Leave Cape Coast to visit Nzulezu the village on stilts today.It is worth seeing how the people live there. Overnight Axim beach                      

Day 6 :The tour goes on to Kumasi the capital city of the Ashanti region, popularly known as the Garden City. It is the center of the Ashanti culture, so we could let's suggest the cultural center, the Asantehene's palace (Manhyia palace), the Kumasi Fort and the Kejetia Market, the largest in West Africa as some of the places to visit. Overnight Kumasi

 

Day 7:An hour's drive outside Kumasi is Owabi Bird Sanctuary. The forest surrounds an artificial lake and abounds with birds and butterflies. The trails through the forest and along the water's edge, give you the opportunity of seeing some of the best of the migratory and indigenous birds found there. The afternoon, we take you through some of the villages where traditional craftsmen still work producing fine kente, Adinkra and the famous Asante stools. Overnight  Kumasi

 

Day 8:  South of Kumasi is the Lake Bosomptwi, a quiet Crater Lake surrounded by forest-clad hills. The hillside is rich in animal and bird life, you can take a local trail around the lake visiting some of the small fishing villages that ring the waters. Overnight Kumasi.

 

Day 9:The road north of Kumasi to Mole takes us through Brong Ahafo, the agricultural basket of Ghana. A stop over for a break is at Kintampo Falls where the attractive cascades are hidden inside the forest. Continue to overnight Mole park

 

Day 10: Enjoy a peaceful day at the Mole park. Enjoy an evening Safari today, Overnight Mole National park.

 

Day 11 : Enjoy a morning safari and leave for Kumasi today. Stop over at Larabanga mosque before continuing to Kumasi. Overnight Kumasi.

 

Day 12:We move you southwards back to Accra today to overnight Accra.

Day 13: Depart Accra for home.
